Secretary Report – October, 2009
Secretary Report – October, 2009
The HOA 2009 general business meeting was called to order by the President, Charles Genrich. Our guests, Phil and Ginny Weaver, were introduced. They live in Kearney, MO. Later in the weekend they were invited to join Heart of America Chapter and accepted. We look forward to getting to know them a little more in the months this coming year, 2010. Jenny already knew how to play the card game Hand and Foot. The Secretary Report and the Treasurer’s Report were approved and filed.
Committee Reports:
Wagonmaster, Lucille Severe, reported that all months for 2010 rallies have been scheduled except October. A suggestion was made to look to consider Grove, OK. Some members like to “Dilly-dally” at historic sites from the Six-State Convention to a HOA meeting. Grove would make a great location for those wanting to do so. After the meeting was over the Grove location was contacted and a date was set for October. All months are now scheduled.
A new historian, Gary Sidebottom, has accepted this appointment. He suggested the club should purchase a digital picture frame and flash drive in order to display photos taken at our meetings. A motion was made, seconded and passed to purchase this machine.

Old Business:
A report was given by National Director, Dan Couch. A ballot is to be circulated to vote on the five dollar increase proposed at the National Convention in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Med-EX is, and will continue to be, a big issue for the year 2010. The current contract expires at the end of that year. National will determine whether to keep Med-Ex, another company or no company at all. A special committee has been appointed to take up the task and research this subject. Dan Couch has been asked to serve on this committee.

New Business:
Those who wish to order magnets for their Heart of America badges should contact the president, Charles Genrich. These would replace the pins currently on their badges.
A report was made by Dan Couch as to the outcome on the election of officers at the Six-State Convention. They are as follows: President, Fred Kennedy; Senior Vice-President, Charlie Adcock; Secretary, Irene Renfro; Treasurer, Dan Couch.
FMCA National is experiencing a deficit. They are getting reduced revenue from their ads in the magazine. The magazine is getting thinner and better paper is being used. The subject was brought up once again concerning 5th wheelers being allowed to join FMCA. Good Sam is having financial problems and should it fold there would be an organizational need for this group of RVers. FMCA might fill that void. So far this has not been well accepted by FMCA members.
