HOA July Meeting Minutes

HEART OF AMERICA COACHMEN
2011 JULY  RALLY
SECRETARY REPORT

The HOA JULY 2011 General Business meeting was called to order by the President Charles Genrich.

The secretary report was printed in the June newsletter and approved at this meeting.

The treasurer’s report was given by Carol Genrich and filed for audit. The audit committee did not see any problems with treasury.

Thanks go to the Nashes and Genrichs for hosting this rally.

Committee Reports:
Rally Master, Lucille Severe, said most of the rally meals for 2012 are complete. For next year
HOA is going to have all multi-host rallies.  We have tried that approach twice this year and seemed to get a good response.

National Director, Dan Couch, reported the numbers of attendees is down for the National
Convention and likewise for Six-State in comparison to previous year’s numbers at this time.
Hopefully there is time to get the Six-State registrations a little higher.
At the Aug. National Convention the acting President’s role will be clarified so there is more
harmony should this arise again.

Nominating Committee gave a report for the officers they nominating for 2012:
President – Charles Genrich
Vice-President – Sue Carey
Treasurer – Elaine Sidebottom
Secretary – Anna Marie Carlile
National Director – Dan Couch or Wayne Cook (This depends on the outcome at the National
Convention. Dan Couch is also running for National Treasuer. If he wins he cannot hold two
National offices at the same time)
Rally Master – Carol Genrich

Old Business:
There will be 7 coaches working at the Six-State Rally in Hutchison. They are Genrichs, Severes, Cooks, Nashes, Sidebottoms, Carliles and Careys. Other HOA members attending will be parked with them.
A motion was made and seconded to pay the $25 early parking fee on Sunday for the rally for all
HOA attendees at Six-State. The non-volunteering attendees will have to initially pay the  early parking fee when they register, but will be reimbursed from the treasury.

New Business::
There was a discussion on how to get and retain new members. From the Dozen Does It report 57% of free memberships are renewing their membership. Also only 40 per cent of the FMCA membership are in chapters.
A recommendation is to spend treasury money in ways that is helpful to the membership. For example, if the group is going to a museum where there is a fee the treasury will pay that amount.

The October Rally will be held first in Hutchison at Six-State and then we will go to Halstead, KS for the remainder of the rally from Oct. 2 – 6.

Meeting Adjourned.

Respectively submitted by Marilee Couch, Secretary.
